Vladesti is a Public university located at Str. Târgul din Vale nr. 1, Pitești 110040, Romania.
The University of Pitești was formed in 1991 by Order of the Ministry of Education. The University traces its roots to 1962, when the Pedagogical Institute of Pitești was founded. In 1969, the Institute of Junior Engineers opened its doors. The two Institutes would eventually merge in 1974 to form the Institute for Higher Education of Pitești, coordinated by the Polytechnic Institute of Bucharest until 1991, when it became independent under the name of The University of Pitești.
