Dr. John Fulginiti, MD, FACS, and his wife, Sarah, began Sunrise Health and Wellness to guide patients to wellness and to help reduce preventable disease. After spending decades watching patients experience pain and discomfort due to preventable disease, Dr. Fulginiti began digging deeper into why the diseases were happening in the fist place. He discovered functional medicine where he learned how a holistic, integrative approach to health that includes addressing nutrition, stress, hormones, sleep and the gut can not only help a patient recover quicker following surgery, it can help to reduce, and even sometimes eliminate, the conditions that made surgery necessary in the first place.
