Hospice Africa Uganda is a Non-governmental organization located at 129 Mobutu Road, Kampala, Uganda.
Hospice Africa Uganda (HAU) was founded in 1993 by Prof. Dr. Anne Merriman with a vision Palliative Care for all in need in Africa. HAU has cared for over 35,000 patients, regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, religion, political, or socioeconomic status. HAU operates in Kampala (headquarters), Mobile Hospice Mbarara and Little Hospice Hoima. We provide patient care through clinic visits, home visits, outreaches and hospital visits and daycare. Since 2003, HAU’s Institute of Hospice and Palliative Care in Africa (IHPCA) has graduated over 500 health professionals from across Africa with diplomas and degrees. 37 African countries have established PC through HAU Initiators’ courses delivered in French and English.
